Mallnow. After expansion of the metering station Mallnow, by 1 April 2014, the physical flow direction from Germany to Poland (from the German market area GASPOOL to the Transit Gas Pipeline System in Poland) will be available. As a result, the Polish TSO – Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. acting as the operator of the Transmission Gas Pipeline System (TGPSO, called “GAZ-SYSTEM ISO” at the PRISMA) and its connected German TSO GASCADE Gastransport GmbH will offer firm bundled capacity.
The capacities will be made available at the PRISMA Primary Platform in an auction of bundled quarterly products for the following periods:
- Quarter April 2014 – June 2014: 2 917 792 kWh/h (282 677 m3/h in accordance with the GOST standard)
- Quarter July 2014 – September 2014: 2 917 792 kWh/h (282 677 m3/h in accordance with the GOST standard).
The auction is planned to be conducted on 24th of February 2014. The bundled capacity will be offered according to the Terms and Conditions of GASCADE and “GAZ-SYSTEM’s Rules of the Auction of Bundled Product at IP Mallnow”. At the moment the " GAZ-SYSTEM’s Rules of the Auction of Bundled Product at IP Mallnow” is in the process of agreeing with the Energy Regulatory Office. After the approval of the Rules, all market participants will be immediately informed in a separate statement.
Before the auctions, the shippers interested in the capacity to be offered should register at the PRISMA primary platform and obtain approval to participate in auction from both TSO’s („GAZ-SYSTEM ISO” and GASCADE). Registration on PRISMA Primary platform for GASCADE will be possible from 10 February 2014. The possibility of registrations on PRISMA Primary platform for "GAZ-SYSTEM ISO" will be available immediately after the approval of the Rules of the auction by the Energy Regulatory Office.
Please be informed that due to the fact, that during the auction a capacity of the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline will be allocated it is necessary to register on the PRISMA primary platform for “GAZ-SYSTEM ISO. This requirement applies to all users, including those who are registered on the platform PRISMA primary as a "shipper" for GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. The Mallnow metering station located at the Polish-German border currently offers the capability to measure gas flows from the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline towards Germany. Upon the completion of additional technical works on the German side, physical flow of gas from Germany to Poland will also become possible. The physical reverse flow service in the Yamal pipeline will be an additional element contributing to the security of gas transportation to Poland from the West, particularly in case of unexpected interruptions of planned deliveries from other directions. The physical reverse flow will also strengthen the virtual reverse flow service which has been offered since 2011 on an interruptible basis and enables gas imports to Poland from the western direction. After the completion of the investment in the Mallnow station, it will be possible to offer the service on a firm basis, which will ensure continuous reliability of supply
