Pipe-laying in the second see section between kilometer point 26 and Mukran can start. Backfilling of the pipe trench on first sea section has started.
Kassel. Today, GASCADE Gastransport GmbH (GASCADE) received approval from the Bergamt Stralsund for the second sea section of the Ostsee Anbindungsleitung (OAL). This is the basis for carrying out the pipe-laying work from kilometer point 26 to Mukran. On 29 September 2023, the Bergamt Stralsund had already granted permission for dredging work to construct the pipe trench on this section. On the basis of today's final approval, the pipe can now also be laid in this section.
"The pipe-laying on the first sea section from Lubmin to kilometer point 26 will be successfully completed in the coming days. We hope that the work on the second sea section to Mukran will also be completed within the planned time frame despite the rougher season. Our goal is to finish the pipe-laying this year and to achieve mechanical completion of the OAL by the end of 2023," explains GASCADE Managing Director Ulrich Benterbusch.
After the pipeline has been laid, the previously excavated pipe trench will be backfilled. This work has already started in mid-October. As far as possible, the temporarily stored dredged material will be returned to the same place from which it was taken.
