Crisis Prevention Gas
Supply security in difficult times

Our core task as a network operator is to ensure a secure and reliable gas supply within our network. Handling gas deficiency and bottleneck situations is therefore of great importance. A timely exchange of information and firmly established communication processes between all the market players involved are indispensable for dealing with such situations.

For this reason, the BDEW (German Association of Energy and Water Industries) has developed the guideline “Krisenvorsorge Gas” (Crisis Prevention Gas), in which all the information requirements and communication channels for implementing measures according to Sections 16 and 16a of the Energy Industry Act between upstream and downstream network operators are clearly defined.

To ensure a smooth exchange of information with downstream network operators, we have been using the Krisenvorsorge Gas portal as a web-based application since 2019.
