GASCADE to inform about expansion of Rehden station

Gas pipeline network operator plans to build a new compressor from April 2016

Rehden/Kassel. At the start of March, the engineers from the Kassel-based gas pipeline network operator GASCADE will inform the public for the first time about the planned expansion of the Rehden compressor station. A third compressor is to be built from April 2016 at the station site in the Diepholz district.

The expansion plan is part of the current German Gas Network Development Plan. The new compressor, due to go into operation in 2017, will boost the capacities of the connected GASCADE long-distance pipelines. "Rehden is already the largest node in our pipeline network," as GASCADE Managing Director Christoph von dem Bussche explains. "Through the third compressor we are making our network fit for the future and thus making an important contribution to the success of the energy transition."

GASCADE has been operating the compressor station in Rehden, to the south of Bremen, since the end of 2012. With a view to the information event on March 5, von dem Bussche said: "It's important to us to maintain good neighborly relations in Rehden and bring the local people on board at an early stage."

The event will be held on
