GASCADE Gastransport GmbH intends to submit a proposal on behalf of all fractional owners of EUGAL for the existence of permanent physical bi-directional capacities on interconnectors between the member states.

GASCADE, after a detailed technical review in alignment with NET4GAS, has come to the conclusion that a permanent physical capacity of 5.9 GWh/h can be provided at the entire border interconnection point Deutschneudorf EUGAL Brandov with flow direction Czech Republic to Germany (EIC 21Z00000004839) for security of supply according to Regulation (EU) 2017/1938 ("SoS Regulation"). Taking into account the existing gas transport capacities on the German-Czech border with a flow direction to Germany, it is therefore not necessary to create additional capacities for security of supply in Germany and Europe.

The obligation to create bidirectional capacities on an interconnector exists in accordance with Art. 5 (4) and (5) of the SoS Regulation in conjunction with point 2 of Annex III SoS Regulation. Section 2 Annex III SoS Regulation - the proposal will be submitted to the Federal Network Agency.

The transmission system operators potentially affected by this proposal (see Section 2 Annex III SoS Regulation) have until January 29, 2024 to raise objections.
