Transmission system operator donates 6,000 euros to charitable causes in Kassel
Kassel. The transmission system operator GASCADE Gastransport GmbH is continuing its social commitment and is supporting two associations this year with a total donation of 6,000 euros. In addition to its long-standing partner Soziale Hilfe e.V., which runs the Panama day care center for homeless and needy people, the Verein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. in Kassel is also being supported for the first time.
GASCADE employees in Kassel have once again shown their generosity by making substantial donations. The management also added to the total, meaning that each of the charities can look forward to receiving 3,000 euros.
Taking responsibility – locally and for each other
As a company based in Kassel, GASCADE sees social commitment as an integral part of its corporate culture. "We have our roots here. Many of our employees live with their families in the region. That's why it's only natural for us to take responsibility where we operate," emphasize works council member Jan-Hendrik Seidel and chairman Klaus Schneegans. The decision to support both the Verein für krebskranke Kinder and the Panama day care center run by Soziale Hilfe reflects two of the company's core concerns: helping families in exceptional situations and providing concrete support for people on the margins of society.
“Both institutions do work every day that is indispensable to our society. They often do this quietly, but with enormous impact,” says Sabine Werner from the works council. “It was important to us to support projects that directly benefit Kassel and empower people in a very concrete way. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible!”
Hope in difficult times
Since 1987, the Verein für krebskranke Kinder in Kassel has been committed to providing psychological and social support to children with cancer and their families. With a wide range of services, from a well-equipped playroom to financial support, the association accompanies families during and after treatment. Joint leisure activities and excursions help them to recharge their batteries and process what they have experienced. "A cancer diagnosis pulls the rug out from under your feet, but it also teaches you to look at life from a different perspective. It is very important to me to support affected families and give them courage and confidence through our services," says Claudia Röllke, chairwoman of the association.
A refuge for homeless people
Since 1989, the Panama day center has been a safe haven for people without a home. "Here, we treat everyone with respect and openness. This makes Panama an important refuge for many people," explains Anja Krätke, press spokesperson for the Verein Soziale Hilfe e.V. Kassel. "Whether it's a hot meal, a shower, clothing or a sympathetic ear: we offer a wide range of support to make everyday life a little easier for those affected." GASCADE has been supporting Panama for ten years now, helping to ensure that this valuable work can continue.
