New pipeline: Surveying work to commence

Kassel/Lemförde/Rehden. GASCADE will commence the surveying work for construction of the new NOWAL gas pipeline at the end of July. It will take about four weeks and be carried out by companies engaged by the pipeline network operator from Kassel.

GASCADE first informed the general public about the pipeline project, which is planned for 2017, at the beginning of May. The 26-kilometer North-West Pipeline Link is to run between Rehden in Lower Saxony and Drohne in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is part of the current German Gas Network Development Plan and will connect GASCADE's gas pipelines in central Germany with the pipeline network in the west of the country.

Surveying of the planned route is one of the requirements specified by law when a pipeline is built. It does not determine whether the pipeline is actually built. The results will be contributed to the planning approval procedure, which is to start this fall. The responsible authorities are the State Office for Mining, Energy and Geology (An der Marktkirche 9, 38678 Clausthal-Zellerfeld) for the section in Lower Saxony and Detmold District Government (Leopoldstraße 15, 32756 Detmold) for the section in North Rhine-Westphalia.

GASCADE attaches great importance to the work being carried out smoothly. If this is not the case, the gas transporter from Kassel will try to obtain compensation. Axel Bühning will be happy to answer any questions you may have:
