EUGAL: Air to be discharged from pipes

Noise emissions may occur during purging / further tests being carried out

Kassel. The first pipeline section of the European Gas Pipeline Link (EUGAL) has now been welded and is in the ground. Prior to commissioning, the completely welded pipeline will undergo numerous tests. To prepare for further checks, excess air will be discharged from Monday, 4 November 2019 to Wednesday, 6 November 2019 at the valve stations along the EUGAL. The procedure is expected to last one to two hours respectively and may entail noise emissions.

Purging air is a routine procedure prior to the commissioning of EUGAL. The pipeline still contains only air.
