Work on the MIDAL: Closure of the L 3179

Maintenance and repair work on the MIDAL gas pipeline

Steinau/Kassel. Owing to maintenance and repair work on the MIDAL gas pipeline (Central Germany Gas Link), the L 3179 between Steinau and Seidenroth will be closed completely from Monday, June 8, 2015. The work is expected to take six weeks. During this period, a diversion to Steinau will be in place via Bad Soden-Salmünster.

The MIDAL is part of the GASCADE long-distance gas pipeline network. 679 kilometers long, it runs from Bunde in Northern Germany to Ludwigshafen in Rhineland-Palatinate. The so-called steel casing pipes on the pipeline will be checked. The actual gas pipeline which is 80 centimeters in diameter and is likewise made of steel runs inside these pipes.
