GASCADE provides support for smart people

Gas pipeline company sponsors two scholarships starting in October

Kassel. GASCADE provides support for smart people. Starting in October, the Kassel-based pipeline network operator will sponsor two scholarships at Westphalian Wilhelms University (WWU) in Münster and the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt. "Companies everywhere complain about the shortage of well-trained people. As a modern gas pipeline operator, we too are relying on employees with the appropriate education. That's why it is in our basic interest to support talented young people in their educational endeavors," says Christoph von dem Bussche, Managing Director of GASCADE Gastransport GmbH.

While GASCADE will support a student focusing on energy related studies at the university in Münster, engineering will be the focus for the future TU Darmstadt graduate. In that college's mechanical engineering program, young engineers in southern Hesse can specialize on gas turbines and aerospace engines. "We are always on the lookout for people like that," explains Markus Schering of GASCADE's HR department.

Both support programs are based on the Germany Scholarship Program initiated by the German government, which rewards young academicians for their outstanding performance. "This scholarship culture promotes communication between us as sponsors and the students," explains Schering. According to Schering, the goal is to support students during their studies not only financially, but to use internships and excursions to give them a detailed look at GASCADE as a company.

The contacts with the two universities have been in place for quite a while now. In both Darmstadt and Münster, HR people from GASCADE have advertised the company's diverse career opportunities for many years at job fairs and counseling days. As one of Germany's two largest pipeline network operators, GASCADE wants to continue this relationship with its participation in the scholarship program for at least the next four years.
