EUGAL: Gassing-up to start on Monday

First flow of gas through pipeline/Escaping air may cause noises

Kassel. The first pipeline string of the European Gas Pipeline Link (EUGAL) will be filled with gas starting next Monday, 2 December 2019. In addition, in the northern part of the pipeline, a more than four-kilometer-long section of EUGAL will be filled with nitrogen to prevent gas from coming into contact with air. Then the entire first string of the pipeline will be filled with gas from north to south.

Over the course of gassing-up, air and nitrogen contained in the gas pressure control and measurement system in Deutschneudorf are expelled from the EUGAL pipeline. Please note that gassing-up involves using pressure that is just marginally higher than the level found in the surrounding area and therefore the escaping air may cause slight noises.
