Consultation: Bi-directional capacity at interconnection point Deutschneudorf-EUGAL

Request for a single exemption from the obligation to enable bi-directional capacity at the interconnection point Deutschneudorf-EUGAL / Objections can be submitted until 10th of July 2019

Kassel. On behalf of all fractional owners of the EUGAL, GASCADE Gastransport GmbH will submit a request for a single exemption from the obligation to enable permanent physical capacity to transport gas in both directions (‘bi-directional capacity’) on all interconnections between Member States. The exemption shall apply to the entire interconnection point Deutschneudorf-EUGAL with flow direction Czech Republic to Germany (EIC 21Z0000000004839). 

The obligation to create bi-directional capacity on an interconnector is laid down in Art. 5 (4) and (5) of Regulation (EU) 2017/1938 ("SoS Regulation") in combination with section 2 of Annex III SoS Regulation. The application will be submitted to the German Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway. 

Transmission system operators for gas potentially affected by this application (see section 2 of Annex III SoS Regulation) can raise objections until 10 July of 2019.
